Gordon joined Advisors Financial in 2024 as Paraplanner. He seamlessly combines his previous technical expertise in civil engineering with his newfound passion for financial planning, drawing inspiration from his father, whose career in financial services spans over 40 years, all in a friendly and approachable demeanor. His unique combination of skills, coupled with a commitment to ongoing learning, makes him an invaluable asset to the team at Advisors Financial, Inc. As he continues to pursue his CFP® certification, Gordon is poised to bring his comprehensive knowledge and strategic thinking to empower clients on their financial journey. He recently fulfilled the education and exam requirements for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in the summer of 2023 and is actively pursuing this prestigious accreditation.
Gordon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia, where he majored in Civil Engineering.
With a wealth of experience spanning over sixteen years, Gordon's professional journey began in the realm of Civil Engineering, where he made a meaningful impact in Long Range Planning at Fairfax Water. As a Civil Engineer, he led the Ten-Year Capital Improvement Program, spearheaded updates to water demand forecasts, and conducted funding analysis for the water main replacement program. This extensive experience has equipped him with a unique perspective and analytical prowess that he brings to his role as a Paraplanner.
In his free time, Gordon enjoys perfecting his golf swing, exploring local breweries, diving into personal finance books, and embarking on adventures with his family.
